Our kitchen serves 165 residents breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Meals are always prepared from scratch and customized to each resident. We offer competitive pay and great hours (most cooks leave by 8:00pm). This is not a seasonal position: you will always work a full 40 hours a week. The Diet Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.

Qualifications:

• Six month’s experience as a diet aide or diet clerk in a skilled nursing facility preferred but not required. Will train on-the-job.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
• Ability to interpret standardized recipes, instructions, specifications and standards.
• Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards.
• Requires empathy for the elderly.
